Route Map
Itinerary
Day 1 / July 27

Arrivals. Plan to arrive on this date at the Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania. Upon arrival you will be warmly welcomed by a local guide who will meet you and facilitate your transfer to your accommodation in Moshi. Take this opportunity to settle in and unwind.

Welcome dinner. In the evening, you will meet the rest of the group; your team mates and future friends, as well as the team that will be hosting you and taking care of you for the next 7 days. This will be a lovely opportunity to connect, ask questions and learn more about the itinerary. You will also have the chance to see a bit more of the town of Moshi. Welcome to Africa!

Day 2 / July 28

Early start and pick up from your lodge after breakfast. Your destination is about 162 mles (260 km) away, the famous Tarangire National Park. Spectacular giant baobab trees, rolling savanna, acacia trees and dense concentrations of wildlife. This is the best park to see Elephants in the area, along with thousands of other animals- wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and oryx as they migrate to the Tarangire River in search of water. Lunch will be within the park, as you embark on your first "game drive". In the late afternoon, the group departs and travel outside the park to an area called Karatu, where you will check into your next accommodation for dinner and a well deserved overnight rest.

Day 3 / July 29

After breakfast the group will head out to the next adventure; the out of this world Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Covering 260 sq km, the crater is an attraction in its own right and is one of the 8 Wonders of the Natural World. The crater supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife and you will have no trouble spotting lion, elephant, buffalo and many species of plain animals - wildebeest, zebra, reedbuck, thompson gazelle and maybe even a chance to spot the elusive black rhino. Lunch will be in the crater after the game drive.
In the afternoon you will be taken to a unique and culturally enriching experience as you make your way to the Central Serengeti. En route to the Central Serengeti, you'll have the opportunity to visit a Maasai Boma. The Maasai are a proud and culturally rich ethnic group known for their distinctive way of life, colorful clothing, and vibrant traditions. A visit to a Maasai Boma allows you to immerse yourself in their culture, learn about their customs, and interact with community members.
Afterwards, the group will head to their accommodations in Central Serengeti for their overnight stay.

Day 4 / July 30

Today is dedicated to a full-day exploration of Central Serengeti National Park, which is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Within its 14,763 sqkms (the size of Connecticut) area it hosts 3 million large mammals. More than 35 species of plain animals - zebra, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, and others are found here - including the big five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. The park is famous for the annual migration of wildebeest. Other exciting wild animals include wild dog, jackal and hyena.
You are invited to a sundowner; a safari inspired happy-hour where you will be treated to cocktails or refreshments, and some snacks while enjoying the beautiful sunset.
Optional Experience (Extra): You will have the option to add a Rhino experience. A rhino sanctuary visit guided by rangers.

Day 5/ July 31

On this day, you will enjoy more of Central Serengeti during the morning, and then your journey takes you to Northern Serengeti where you can witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River. This drive will be approximately 95 miles (150 kilometers). Once there, the game drive is on, and the group will be searching for the best view of the amazing crossings. After a day of adventure, it will be time to check into your next accommodation for a well deserved night's rest.

Day 6/ Aug 1

Full Day Northern Serengeti experience. More game drives, river crossings, and that exciting safari life! Overnight stay will be in same accommodation.

Optional Experience (Extra): You will have the option to add a one-in-a-life-time experience: Exploring the Serengeti on Hot Air Balloon.
Day 7/ Aug 2

Your adventure isn't over yet, as you continue to explore the captivating Northern Serengeti, reveling in more wildlife sightings. Around noon you'll bid farewell to this remarkable region and return to Arusha via a chartered flight, covering approximately 130 miles (200 kilometers). This is a very exclusive and luxurious experience to have while in safari. Perhaps the best way to end your journey, flying above the land and parks you have been exploring for the last 6 days. Your opportunity to say good bye and reminisce about what you just experienced.
Upon arrival in Arusha you will be taken to the international airport to catch your international flight, or to your accommodation if you decide to spend the night in Arusha.

If you decide to go home on this date, make sure you book an evening flight. If you decide to stay in Arusha to spend more time in this area, or if you want to continue exploring Tanzania, we will work with you to book hotels, transportation, and experiences as needed.
