A weekend in

Puerto Vallarta

Feb 25-28 (3 nights)

Gentlemen,

I happy to present to details of your trip to Puerto Vallarta with Ursula Hosting.

It's time to get excited!

First a little about Puerto Vallarta...

Puerto Vallarta is a coastal town on the west coast of Mexico, State of Jalisco.  Jalisco is a thriving state with famous cities like Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Tequila! (Correct, where tequila comes from - 4hr drive).

Puerto Vallarta has seen tremendous growth in the last years/decade and has become a world wide gay destination in the process. The city has a "modern side" where most resorts, large marina,  and hotels are located, and it is closer to the airport. Then there is an older side, more traditional where you can still see the colonial part of town. This is the gay friendly part of town.  The area where most of the gay establishments are located is called Zona Romantica, and it is located in the south of El Centro.

Most Hotels, nice houses, and villas with great views in the area are located around this zone, in the hills. Most places in this area are close enough to most attractions.  You could walk, or at least take a short Uber/taxi ride; specially on the way back.

Thursday

  • Arrivals - Private Shuttle.

    • First you will go through the Immigration, Baggage claim and Customs areas.

    • When you come out of customs, you will face an infamous section of TIME SHARE stands and “Free Margarita Booths”. Avoid them, and don't pay attention to them and proceed out the other side of the room. (They’ll go as far as saying that they represent Casa Cupula if you even mention you are staying there)

    • Once on the other side, you will then see the Rental Car Agencies. Please keep going.

    • Head out the final set of double doors, past the yellow taxi stands and proceed outside the airport.

    • As you head outside, you should see your driver wearing a black uniform, waiting with a sign with your name and the Casa Cupula logo on it.  The company is called "AirGo". If you have any trouble locating the driver, please call 1-866-352-2511 ext. 0 and there will be someone happy to assist you

    • Please refer to the image below as a further guide in locating your driver.

  • Check in and settle at the hotel

  • Money exchange -

    • You can do some at the airport if you would like to have some cash. just in case. Someplaces offer better rate if they. take it from a debit card. Please inquire.

    • You can also do it later in town, which would have a better rate. Te rate in town is around 18 pesos per 1 USD.

    • The front desk could tell you where to do it. near by, or perhaps you see a place during your walk with Joe.

    • Most places will take CC too, so don't worry if you can't do it the night you get in.

  • 6:00 PM -  8:00 PM Private Walking Tour (Malecon, Zona Romantica):  Your guide will be Joe.  He will show you key areas, and places you can later explore more, good bars and restaurants, and more.  Make sure to ask as many about whatever you would like to do. Don't be shy. Joe can recommend and guide you to the right direction.  Grab a drink or two with him, and then he will walk you to where you will have dinner.

    • Joe will come get you at the hotel.

    • Since there is no reservation required, let me know if you would like to start at a different time.
