four days in Havana

Again thank you for considering traveling with us to Habana. It is truly one of our favorite destinations, and I know it will be one of your as well.

 

I have put together a high level plan to provide an example of what your trip could look like with us. With this plan, you will be able to experience the city, learn about the culture, and simply enjoy your time in Cuba.   

​

Please find below examples of actual options for accommodation, and a list of activities that can be planned for a 4 nights/5 days trip.   Each option comes with a different price, please let me know what you think.  

Accommodations (UPDATED)

The option you selected was reserved before we could confirm. Nevertheless, we identified two other options based on your preference.  These options are not as modern, but offer similar amenities.

 

One is a private apartment, and the other one is a private room in a 3-bedroom B&B.  Both are located in Old Habana. Please see below: 

Private Apartment Apartment - Old Havana (1599)

​

  • Fully renovated and equipped with all the commodities.  Flat tv with cable, fully equipped kitchen, modern jacuzzi and marble counter in bathroom.   Large bedroom with king size bed.  Imported furniture. 

  • Located in the heart of residential Old Habana. Very private and quiet.  Away from the busy streets, but also only 3 min walk from Plaza Vieja and main touristic areas. 

  • Breakfast would be prepared and served in apartment every morning by house keeper.  She will come to cook and tidy up the place every morning.

  • Small balcony, and access to building rooftop. 

Suite in Small B&B - Old Havana (1559)

  • Large and very spacious room suite in small B&B.  Room has large modern bathroom, and minibar. 

  • Old house completely remodeled.  It has a large living room and huge balcony, both shared with guests in other two rooms. 

  • Breakfast also prepared and served onsite every morning. 

Possible Itinerary - This is a sample created on your input. We can modify activities, combine them, or create complete new ones based on your interests

 

May 18, Saturday â€‹

  • Arrival - Driver will be ready to pick up and drive you to the house. 

  • Once Upon the Time.  Walk the streets of Old Habana with one of our favorite guides. Learn about history, best places to explore, and more.  Route can be influenced by any particular requests you might have.  This will be the best introduction to this area and the city. Departure time will depend on the time you arrive.

May 19, Sunday

  • 11:00AM Beach Please. A favorite of our clients. We arrange transportation to one of the most beautiful beaches near Habana.  Only 40 minutes aways. We also provide you with tips on how to make it a fantastic day.

May 20, Monday

  • 07:30 AM Country Living (Viñales). Breathtaking views, prehistoric sites, coffee/tobacco fields, organic farms, and other natural wonders made Viñales an UNESCO World Heritage site. Viñales is a complete paradise ready to welcome visitors, and what better way to explore it than horseback riding. Leave the house early in the morning, and be welcomed in Viñales by our local guide who will have your horses ready.  Some of the options are visiting tobacco plantations and factories, learn about local farming, swim in a lake, ride near the famous mogotes, and more.  Our guide will adjust route to your desires.

 

May 21, Tuesday​

  • Free morning

  • 04:00 PM  - Classic Riding. Enjoy the beauty of Habana onboard a beautiful convertible American Classic car. This is experience is led by our favorite and most wanted guide. He knows about history and fun facts.  He will take you to multiple points of interest and some of his favorite spots too.

May 22, Wednesday

  • Departure

​

Please note:

  • Nights out - I recommend based on your preferences places to go and explore for night live. Live music, bars, etc.  (e.g. Tropicana, gay nights, etc.)

  • Lunch/Dinners -  I provide a list of recommendations for restaurants based on my own and previous guests' experiences.  You tell us where you want to go and we will make all reservations for you. I am happy to provide suggestions as well if you are not sure.  This is valuable, as places in Havana are a hit or miss. 

  • Transportation - We can also pre-arrange transportation to restaurants and additional places as you need. You can pay each ride in Cuba, or pre-paid with us so you don't spend your valuable cash in Cuba (remember no ATMs or credit cards).

Some Additional Options for Activities.

Some of these require additional cost, for instance Day trips.

  • Hemingway Tour

  • Dinner with locals

  • Castle/fortress tour

  • Museum Guided Tours (e.g. Revolution Museum)

  • Art Tours

  • Fishing or Scuba diving.

  • We can also coordinate Day trips - They include transportation and guide. These will require additional cost. Prices available upon request

    • to Varadero (World famous beach. This can also be overnight stay in an all inclusive resort) 

    • to Bahia de Cochinos ( Eco tourism, national park, learn about indigenous traditions)  

    • to Soroa - Terrazas (Waterfalls, nature walk and hike)

  • We can also coordinate  experiences based on your interests (e.g. music, cuisine, art, tabaco, Rum)) upon request

 This plan in particular would also include the following:

 

  • Round trip Airport transportation in an American Classic Car

  • 4 night accommodation

  • Breakfast 

  • Concierge services before and during your trip. We know the city and can recommend and help with reservations at restaurants, shows, and other things to do. We can also help setting up transportation. All of this can be planned in advance and pay through us so you don't have to worry about bringing enough money to Cuba

  • Access to our local agent. Someone who is there to help you and guide you as needed. He will welcome you and go over your plan when you arrive, and will also be available to assist during the duration of your trip.

  • Assistance exchanging money at the best rate possible

  • All required paper work to meet US restrictions on travel to Cuba under the People to People Exchange category

  • Guides for the city upon requested

  • A cell phone for you to use to contact our local agent whenever he is needed. We include $10 CUC credit ($12 USD)

  • 2 WiFi cards (one hour each) to help you connect when you first arrive. 

  • A bottle of a 7 Year Reserved Rum by Havana Club and beers.

Please Note:

  • We are including 4 activities in this sample. 3 are local, and one is what we considered a day trip.  We can include more, or less. We will just need one per night/day to meet government regulations. 

  • We would provide as well guidance and recommendations for you to enjoy during your free time.

Sample of Accommodations (previously presented)

I wanted to show you a couple of other types for accommodation.  These are a bit different from the bed n breakfast model we have talked about but also good options.  Take a look and let me know if you would be interested instead. 

Option 1-  Room w/ Private Bathroom in a small Bed and Breakfast - Centro Havana ($1349)

​

  • This is where Jeffrey stayed.  Very comfortable Bed n Breakfast that offers guests a lot of privacy and comfort.  It has three levels, a large balcony, and nice terrace. All rooms have AC and bathroom.  

  • The staff comes only in the mornings to do room cleaning and breakfast, and leave in the afternoon.

  • I personally know the team, and they would take good care of you. Great breakfast and service.

  • Located in Centro Habana. Which is walking distance from Old Havana, in the heart of it all.  It is a very safe neighborhood. Very representative of the city.

  • It is also only a couple of blocks from the famous Malecon, and near some of the best restaurants in the city like La Guarida, and Casa Miglis.

Option 2 - Apartment with the View - Old Havana ($1489)

  • We have access to apartments like this one. Centrally located and with views in Old Havana.  Close to tourist attractions, shopping, restaurants, Chinatown, and plazas. 

  • In this category we find places that are simple, but are very comfortable, with great location, and total privacy. 

  • Breakfast is also included.

Option 3 -  One bedroom Loft/suite -  Old Havana ($1699)

  • We have also places like these ones.  Recently restored and also centrally located. Near everything: bars, cafes, shops, galleries, restaurants, museums, all within walking distance

  • Modern apartments featuring soaring ceilings, large windows, new modern furnishings, and amenities. Better decor.

  • Breakfast also included
