Family time in cuba

10 days (9 nights)

Hi Inti,

Thank you for giving me the chance to present to you this proposal.  Although this is very high level, it will give you an idea of what I can put together for you: thing to do, places to stay, prices, etc.

From this moment on it is my mission to make sure you two have an unforgettable experience in Cuba.  We can tailor this as much as you want. We can add, remove, combine, etc. Your call.

This high level plan reflects the inputs you gave me during our call.  I will continue to define and customize this based on your future feedback and once we know dates.

Please take a look and let me know what you think, who you like, what you don't like, what you would like to see more or less of, etc.  This is your trip, and I won't stop until you are completely satisfied with the plan.

Accommodations (Samples)

  • Based on your input, I am looking at rooms in private homes and small B&B.

  • All places will have A/C, hot water, etc. All basic commodities.

Havana - Small Bed and Breakfast - Centro Habana

  • This is a very comfortable Bed n Breakfast that offers guests a lot of privacy and comfort.  It has three levels, a large balcony, and nice terrace. All rooms have AC and bathroom.

    • I am thinking two rooms. If we get lucky we could even get  one of the floors just for you (2 floors)

  • The staff comes only in the mornings to do room cleaning and breakfast, and leave in the afternoon.

  • I personally know the team, and they would take good care of you. Great breakfast and service.

  • Located in Centro Habana. Which is walking distance from Old Havana, in the heart of it all.  It is a very safe neighborhood. Very representative of the city.

  • It is also only a couple of blocks from the famous Malecon, and near some of the best restaurants in the city like La Guarida, and Casa Miglis.

Trinidad Casa Particular (BnB)

  • This is a casa particular.  A popular way of accommodations in Cuba.  Home owners have turned their homes or second homes into bed and breakfasts.  Only three rooms in the house. Hostess does not live in the house, only guests, which offers a lot of privacy.

  • House is in great condition, rooms are very comfortable, and this house also offers WiFi, which as you might know it is not common in Cuba. You still need to use WiFi cards, but you wouldn't need to travel to a hot spot to access the internet.

  • The house has a rooftop, as well as an open courtyard.

  • Breakfast is prepared and served everyday at the house.

  • Located a short walk from the center and busiest areas of the town.  Close enough but also far enough to offer quieter nights, and the opportunity to see more how locals live.

  • This one is one of my favorite and most trusted hosts in Cuba. Guests love the opportunity to interact with other guests, how comfortable beds are, as well as how welcome and helpful staff and hostess are.  â€‹

Suggested Itinerary

These are the stops and activities I would like to suggest to get the conversation started. Please take a look and let me know what you think:

Day One

  • Airport Pick ups

  • Afternoon - Once Upon the Time - Walk the streets of Old Habana with one of our favorite guides. Learn about history, best places to explore, and more.  Route can be influenced by any particular requests you might have.  This is a great way to see the touristic part and get to know the city from the start.

  • Night out. We can recommend and help you prepare for a fun night out (e.g. Dinner reservations, art shows, bars and clubs)

Day Two

  • Beach Please - A favorite of our clients. We arrange transportation to one of the most beautiful beaches near Habana, and give you tips on how to make it a great experience. Only 40 minutes aways.  You can rent chairs, umbrellas, order drinks and lunch from the beach, and have a good old time.

Day Three

  • Travel to Pinar Del Rio (2 nights), Stopping first in Viñales for the day - Pinar del Rio is a small city not normally visited by most tourists. Never the less is beautiful and with a great location.

    • Private transportation to Pinar del Rio

    • Day in Viñales - We could stop here for the day. Viñales is a beautiful countryside town with amazing landscape, valley, tabaco and coffee plantations, bee farms, and more.  Once there we can spend couple of hours exploring the landscape and beauty around horseback riding (we can also do a tour of the city in a car if preferred).

    • After exploring this area, you would continue the way to Pinar Del Rio

    • Free night to explore on your own.

Day Four

  • Day in Pinar del Rio - Here I am thinking giving you a tour of the area, and visit either a tabaco or rum factory. Some of the best of the country and the world are located here. This can be a pretty chilled and unique day.

  • Then have dinner with locals.

Day Five

  • Back to Havana - Head back to Havana in the morning

  • Free day in Havana. We can provide some tips on things to do, areas to explore.

    • I am happy to also schedule an activity

  • Night time - What about a show? We can make reservation at the famous Tropicana, or places with life music.

Day Six

  • Art Tour or Revolution Museum Guided Visit - The first one would take you on a tour to some community based art project and private art studios. The second one would be a guided visit to the Revolution museum which is full of interesting information and is located in what was once the presidential palace. Beautiful building.

Day Seven

  • Trinidad (Two Nights) - This is one of the most beautiful towns and areas of  Cuba.  Only 4-5 hours away. It has beautiful architecture, large art and music scene, history, and gorgeous country side.  There are some known galleries and studios you could check out, as well as decent night scene and restaurants.

    • Private transportation to Trinidad. Trinidad is located in the middle of the country. We would have leaving in the morning, to be there early afternoon.

    • Private walking tour of the town upon arrival.

Day Eight

  • Hike Tope De Collantes/Salto de Caburni.  This is a national reserve. We can do a guided hike/walk. This one is a great experience. The area is very virgen, gorgeous, and not many tourists get here.

Day Nine â€‹

  • Travel day. Back to Havana (4 and half hours)

  • 04:00 PM Classic Riding - During the afternoon, enjoy the beauty of Habana one more time seeing other areas of the city onboard a beautiful convertible American Classic car. This is experience is led by our favorite and most wanted guide. He know about history and fun facts.  He will take you to multiple points of interest and some of his favorites spots too.

Day Ten

  • Departure Day - Private shuttle to the airport.

Please note:

  • Nights out - I can recommend based on your preferences places to go and explore for night live. Live music, bars, etc.  (e.g. Tropicana, live music, etc.)

  • Lunch/Dinners -  I provide a list of recommendations for restaurants based on my own and previous guests' experiences.  You tell us where you want to go and we will make all reservations for you. I am happy to provide suggestions as well if you are not sure.  This is valuable, as places in Havana are a hit or miss.

  • Transportation We can also pre-arrange transportation to restaurants and additional places as you need. You can pay each ride in Cuba, or pre-paid with us so you don't spend your valuable cash in Cuba (remember no ATMs or credit cards).

Some Additional Options for Activities.

Some of these require additional cost, for instance Day trips.

  • Hemingway Tour

  • Dinner with locals in Havana

  • Castle/fortress tour

  • Fishing or Scuba diving.

  • We can also coordinate Day trips - They include transportation and guide. These will require additional cost. Prices available upon request

    • to Varadero (World famous beach. This can also be overnight stay in an all inclusive resort)

    • to Bahia de Cochinos ( Eco tourism, national park, learn about indigenous traditions)

    • to Soroa - Terrazas (Waterfalls, nature walk and hike)

Inti I really appreciate you considering traveling with us. I would like to see you as a recurring client, and collaborate in the future. Therefore I would like to offer you something special; my standard package for three people (2 rooms), similar to this one would cost around $4500 for 9 nights. In this case, I am including for less the same number of activities and accommodation, but I am including day trips and private transportation throughout the island.  I hope I have created something you would like.

I believe we can do all of the above for about $4000.  This is an estimate of course, since we don't have specific days, and this is just an initial outline.

Take some time going through it and let me know questions, comments, and reactions. â€‹  Again, we will work on this until you have the perfect itinerary.

THANK YOU
