La habana - VAradero

I would like to present to you a high-level proposal for your 5 night/6 day trip.  These are recommendations; I will work with you until you are 100% satisfied with the plan.  Again, thank you for the opportunity to present to you what traveling with Ursula Hosting could be like. 

 

I am recommending you do two cities as home base.  We can do day trips from here if you wish, but there is no need to move and pack.  I'm thinking you have 5 days in Cuba, and adding one more destination might make the schedule too tight. I will explain along the document. 

 

I am thinking 2 and 3 nights in each place.  We can modify this of course, but for now I am thinking 2 in Habana, and 3 in Varadero.

 

Good to know information:

  • The Drive from Habana to Varadero lasts two hours each way.  

  • The drive from Varadero to one of the main keys would be more than 4 hours each way

SUMMARY

In summary, our package includes: 

​

  • 2 night accommodation in Havana 

  • 3 night accommodation in Varadero

  • Airport pick up and drop off

  • 2 activities in Havana​

    • City tour onboard an American classical convertible car.

    • Old Havana walking tour

  • Private transportation to Varadero from Havana (2 hours)

  • Private transportation to Havana International Airport from Varadero (2 hours)

  • Breakfast 

  • All required paperwork to meet US restrictions on travel to Cuba

  • Concierge services before and during your trip. We know the city and can recommend and help with reservations at restaurants, shows, and setting up transportation. 

  • Access to your own local agent. Someone in Havana to help you and guide you as needed. He will welcome you in Havana, exchange money for you (best rate), go over plan,  and be available to assist during the duration of your trip.

  • A cell phone you can use to contact our local agent whenever he is needed. We include $15 CUC credit (About $17 USD) 

  • We also provide you with 3 WiFi cards (one hour each) so you can stay connected when you arrive.

Accommodations - Havana - 2 nights

I recommend staying in centrally located areas like Centro Habana or Old Habana.  Private apartments or rooms in Bed and Breakfasts.  Below I am recommending one of my favorite places for you.  This can also be for two or three guests.  

Room w/ Private Bathroom in small Bed and Breakfast - Centro Havana ($1349)

  • Very comfortable Bed n Breakfast that offers guests a lot of privacy and comfort.  Two beds in bedroom.  Double Bed and single bed.  We could do one room for two people, or two for three. 

  • Three levels, large balcony, and terrace.  We can have actually have the top floor be all for you the three of you. It will feel like your own apartment, with the beautiful balcony and access to the private rooftop. 

  • Located in Centro Habana. Walking distance from Old Havana (10 min) in the heart of it all.  It is a very safe neighborhood. Very representative of the city.  It is also only a couple of blocks from the famous Malecon, and some of the best restaurants in the city like La Guarida, Casa Miglis, San Cristobal, and more.   You are also a shorter cab ride to other areas of the city like Vedado. 

  • The staff comes in the mornings for cleaning and making breakfast, leave in the afternoon.  

  • Breakfast prepared and served in the apartment every morning. 

Accommodations - Varadero - 3 nights

I found a great deal in Varadero for you.  The place is located in the town, less than 5min walk from the beach and close to restaurants, stores, and more.   The best part is that you could all have your own room for a really good price.    We could reduce if you are only 2 people too.  

 

NOTE: It is important to be open minded and remember there are some limitations in Cuba. The houses we woerk with have all necessary amenities (AC, hot water, etc), but decor and facilities might be outdated .

​Possible Itinerary

This is an example of what your itinerary would look like. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Day One - Tuesday - Havana

  • Airport Pick up - Our agent will personally welcome you at the airport. Help you with money exchange, and answer any questions you might have. 

  • Afternoon (4PM) - Classic Riding - Enjoy the beauty of Habana onboard a beautiful convertible American Classic car. This is experience is led by our favorite and most wanted guide. He knows about history and fun facts.  He will take you to multiple points of interest and some of his favorites spots too. Route will include Chinese neighborhood, Colon Cemetery, Miramar, Vedado, John Lennon Park, and more.  

    • We need to confirm your flight time.  ​

Day Two - Wednesday - Havana 

  • Morning - Once Upon a Time - Explore Old town with one of our and most knowledgable guides. She will show you the main plazas, streets, stores; all while telling you fun facts, history and more. She will drop you off at your selected place for lunch!

  • Night Time - If you would like, we can make reservations for you at a cabaret show like Tropicana, or recommend places where you could have a drink and listen to life music after dinner.

Day Three - Thursday - Varadero 

  • Free Morning - Explore your neighborhood, or go back to Old town. I will provide some guidance.  We can also schedule you a guided visit to the revolutions museum, or you can visit on your own. 

  • Early Afternoon - Private ride to Varadero (2 hours)

Day Four - Friday - Varadero 

  • Varadero - We can leave this open if you wish or schedule activities for you as well. Some options are:  

    • Cooking and mojito classes​

    • Guided walks of the city 

    • Guided visit to Matanzas (closest large city) 

    • Nature activities 

    • and more.

Day Five - Saturday - Varadero 

  • Varadero - Same as above

​

Day six  - Sunday - Departure

  • Departure - Drive from Varadero into airport in Havana.  We will determine the time of departure based on your flight schedule. (2 hr drive)

Please Note:

  • Lunch - Dinner - We can recommend and make reservations for lunch and dinner in Havana. Concierge service is included. 

  • Transportation - We are happy to schedule any additional transportation needs you might have. We can pay it advance so you don't have to worry about paying cash there. 

  • Final schedule (Dates and times) will be determined once dates and flights are confirmed.

Some of these require additional cost, for instance Day trips.

  • Museum Guided Tours (e.g. Revolution Museum)

  • We can also coordinate Day trips - They include transportation and guide. These will require additional cost. Prices available upon request

    • to Viñales - Unesco site. Beautiful countryside archeological sites, tabaco fields, caves, and more.

    • to Bahia de Cochinos ( Eco tourism, national park, learn about indigenous traditions)  

    • to Soroa - Terrazas (Waterfalls, nature walk and hike)

  • We can also coordinate  experiences based on your interests (e.g. music, cuisine, art, tabaco, Rum)) upon request

We can offer the above plan for the following total cost:

 

  • Three People ​

    • $1450 - About $96 per person per night 

  • Two People 

    • $1100 - About $110 per person per night
