Itinerary 

Weekend full of outdoor activities with enough time to relax and enjoy the physical beauty and culture of the region.  Please take a look and let me know if you like the plan or would like to add/remove anything. 

 

Day One - Friday - May 24th​

• 12:30/12:45 PM - Arrival - Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport to drive you to Antigua Guatemala.  This ride lasts about an hour and 1/2.  The estimated time of arrival at the apartment would be 2:00 PM 

  • Car will be to the right when you step out of the airport (Just one exit). Driver will have a sign that reads Miller/Michael/Wayne ​

• 2:00 PM to 03:00 PM - You will have an hour to settle in, and maybe grab a quick bite to eat if you haven't already have lunch,  You will also be able to grab food and drinks in the stops you will be doing during the ATV excursion.  

• 03:00 PM - Sunset ATV Tour - This is the best way to take in the beauty surrounding the city.  You will visit some of the best view points located in the mountains around the city.  They are restaurants and eco-lodges with gardens, bars and cafes you can enjoy while taking in the best views of the city.  

  • Guides will come pick you up at the hotel to start the ride from there.   

• 09:00 PM - Dinner reservation at Angie Angie.  Feel free to arrive a little early and enjoy some drinks at their bar. Their live music starts at 8:30PM. 

• Drinks/Entertainment - Some options 

  • Rum Tasting ​at La Casa Del Ron - This is an elegant bar/restaurant. It could be a good option for drinks, and also for dinner.  Make sure to taste Rum Zacapa. Considered one of the best of the world.

  • Cafe No Se - Hipster Vibe. Next door to Angie Angie

Day Two - Saturday - May 25th​

• 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM - Day at Lake Atitlan (Total trip would be around 10-12 hours) - Prepare to see one of the most beautiful landscapes in Guatemala.  This lake is surrounded by volcanos, and small villages founded by Mayan descents, and colorful landscapes. 

  • Our day starts with a 2 1/2 to 3 hour ride to the lake (perfect to recover sleep). The driver will pick you up at the hotel at 7:00 AM and take you to the Kayucos Pier in Panajachel. . Once there you will be picked up at the pier by a shuttle from Laguna Lodge Eco-Resort and Nature Reserve.

  • Once at the resort you can stretch for a bit, enjoy the view, drink something, use restrooms, etc., before heading out to your experience - San Juan Adventure.

  • ​Guided trip visiting a small farming and fishing Maya Tzutujil village. Some of the stops can also be weaving and textile cooperatives, resident master artists' galleries, and working coffee cooperatives. Total time can be 3-4 hours (with 1 hour of horse back riding)  
  • Arrive back at the Lodge Resort and enjoy the last two hours at the pool, having drinks, and grabbing lunch.  
  • You should return back to the main pier not later than 4:30PM.  Driver will be ready to depart towards Antigua at 4:45PM ​
• 09:30 PM - Dinner reservation at Hector's Bistro.  This is a small and intimate place. It is located around the corner from Fridas.  
• Drinks/Entertainment  - Fridas for Monthly Gay Night Party.  Vibras for dancing (Across from Fridas)

Day Three - Sunday - May 26th

• 10:00 AM - Volcano Hike (5-6 hours) -  Time to visit the Pacaya Volcano. This is one of the most beautiful and dangerous attractions near antigua.  This active volcano is surrounded by a lot of beauty and also results from recent eruptions.  A unique and impactful trip.  Private transportation and guide. 

  • Hike is about 1 1/2 hours.  Not the easiest hike but for definitely a rewarding one. The views from the top are incredible, and you can see lava and steam depending on how active the volcano is.

  • I have made the reservation for 10AM.  You will be joined by two other guests of Ursula Hosting .

  • Please make sure to wear long pants and resistant shoes. 

• 08:00 PM - Dinner ​reservation at Los Tres Tiempos.  

• Drinks/Entertainment - Barrio

Even though you will have a busy schedule, we hope you will still have time to explore Antigua. Its cobble streets and colonial architecture are beautiful.  You can also visit some the ruins of many monasteries, convents, and churches that were destroyed and/or abandoned after multiple earthquakes hit the city last century.  I recommend walking to at least one of them (e.g. Capuchinas, Santo Domingo) 

 

Day Four - Monday - May 27th

• 08:30 AM - Departure - Our driver will be ready to pick you at this time. You should arrive at the airport around 10:00 PM for your flight at 12:35 PM.  Let me know if you would like to leave earlier.
